Rökfyllda röriga rum (smokey rooms - but it did sound better in Swedish ;))

Hola!

We have had a lot of fun this week, and now we are really tired, but still forced our selves to write a blogpost since Sara is here and this is the first time in two years we actually write TOGETHER as in old times! :)

We will post some pics here, but we don't have any from all the cozy bars we have been to, so that's sad. But instead we will write about them here:

1. FetteEcke in Kreuzberg. By far the coziest place we have ever experienced! We stayed there for almost 6 hours! They played good music, had a looots of candles all over the place, a lot of happy people in it and some big dogs as well, that walked free in the bar or slept under the tables. Since it's allowed to smoke inside almost all bars and coffeehouses in Berlin, people tend to be more social in the bars while sitting down smoking and chatting. And once you get used to the smoke, it's actually quite charming in some way!

2. Warschauer Strasse. Here you can find a lot of nice bars and clubs, and all of them is quite hippie-places with a lot of graffiti, which makes the bars look more trashed and old, but also gives them a certain feeling. On the other hand, graffiti seems to be the perfekt word to describe Berlin with one word. And once again - the music is good!

3. Partykeller. In Kosmonautenstrasse, where Erica and Carlota and Blai live. (I had to put it in my list since Erica is so keen on it ;)). It's a studentpub where you can party cheap, meet people from all over the world and even dance pole dance if you like ;) It's a fun place to hang out, and it closes late. Or early, depends how you see it.

 Wir möchten Kaffe und Kuchen!<3
A really nice restaurant we went to together with Kim and Jacob.

 Condomat - only in Berlin!

My new roomie and her boyfriend, having dinner with us in the Italian restaurant in Tierpark.
 Ana, Sara and Nora.
 Marisa, Mireia and Emma.
A little gathering in my room - that seems to be bigger than I thought!
 Berlin wall as real turists.
And then we saw this really wierd "bicykle-car"(?).

So have a nice monday tomorrow, now we will go to sleep!

Climbing + redwine - only in Berlin

Heeeeej!!!

I just went running for one hour, and the weather is stunning!! Sun and 20+, that's how I was expecting Berlin to be! Not as cold and rainy as it has been now for several weeks...

I just realized that today was actually the first day so far that I went straight home from school! There has been so much going on in the weeks so I have barely been home at all. But today was laundry-day (that's this kind of a irritating duty that you have to do once in a while, but always think "I do it tomorrow instead" and suddenly you don't have ANY clean clothes left!), and I need to clean and stuff like that, because today my dear friend Sara will come visiting me for one week!

Yesterday I went climbing with Kim and Nora after school. They have this really cool boulder-climbing-place at Warschauerstrasse, where you can go climbing for 4 € and also drink beer and redwine (ofc - we are in Berlin!;)), and it's kind of a hippie-place with graffiti walls, Bob Marealy-music from the speakers, and guys without skirts, but who are still wearing knitted hats!

After climbing me and Nora went to a Turkish market down the river near Kottbusser Tor, and you could actually buy everything from there! There seems to be at least one market going on in Berlin every day!

At Monday we had a chill evening in my place, my roomie is away during this week, and we got kind of a food-coma! We were so hungry so we bought several chips bags, chocolate and one kebab each. And redwine ofc! That's actually even cheaper than water here.

Now I will try to study for the German-test at friday before I will go and pick up Sara from the airport (it's Schönefeld, that sucks). Have a GREAT week all of you!

PUSS!!!!!!!!

Kim climbing up the wall

And me climbing as a freak. It was several years since last time, but I didn't feel that heavy after all!
Half of the boulder-hall was indoors and the other half outdoors.
This is so typical of Berlin - musicians playing - well - their homemade "instruments"!

Schoolweeks and markets, and some beer.

Hola!

It has been a long week, with school every day and a lot of program in the evenings. We have had school every day from 9 pm and since I am truly NOT an early bird, this has been a little challenge for me. But as with everything else here in Berlin - you get used to it eventually.

German is really fun though! It's actually so similar to Swedish and there is a lot of words that are almost the same in both languages. The pronunciation and the grammar is the most difficult part.
The best thing with our school is that you can eat daily lunch for 1-3 euro, and then you can choose between a lot of good dishes! Ich habe ein libelingsessen - das ist kartoffeln mit kotletten! Hast du ein libelingsessen?

We have been doing a lot of fun stuff in our freetime too, I will post some pics here under. Friday was a really fun day; me, Mireia, Marisa, Ana and Kim had a small preparty in my place, we ate some pizza and danced some latino-salsa (even though I will never be able to dance it like the spanish girls - me and Kim were wishing that we could have spanish hips too! ;)). Then we went to Carlotas place and continued prepartying until we went down to the student pub in her dorm. I really like the student life here! You could buy a shot for 50 cent (!!) and the studentpubs are so fun, always crowded with students.

Finally we ended up in Warshauerstrasse at the erasmus-welcome-party in some nightclub, but I guess I has too wasted to even enter the club. We had a fun time though, and came home around 6ish in the morning.

The most funny part was when we were heading for carlotas place and me and Mireia saw a whole football team in the tram, and one of them had an leek (purjolök på svenska, Lauch in German) in his hand. We thought that was really weird (I mean who walks around with an leek at that time of the night??). Then Marisa told us that the football team was Union, but I heard "Onion", and said "that's why they have the leek-onion - it's their maskot!" :D

In school - they also serve dessert EVERY day! Can you imagine, like the best school ever!
We went to Ikea on wednesday, and stayed there for 5 hours! I bought a lot of stuff for my room, and now it looks a little bit nicer. Kim also bought kalles kaviar and swedish knäckebröd, it was nostalgic!
This is how my room looks right now. Still not that fancy but with the carpet and the little light it's okay :)
At the studentpub, Kim, me and Nora learnt this weird german drinking tradition(?).
We went eating pizza yesterday, it was a cozy place with nice techno-music, and it felt a little bit like "Boquerian" or "Kåken" in Stockholm.
Warshauerstrasse and the markets today. They have such a good second-hand market there, and I became a shopaholic. I bought 2 dresses, 2 hats, 1 handbag and 1 shirt. Then we ate lunch in a nice place where you could have dessert as well for 9 €!

Hope you all had a nice weekend as well, and that you will have a nice week! Looking forward to monday *not*!

Puss och kram!

Ben&Hans

Tjeeena hello hi hola!

It has been a really fun weekend and we have been up for a lot of things, here I will post some pics of what we have been doing. Thursday was one of the best days so far, me Kim and Ana went to this student pub close to where I live and we were actually just planning to stay for a while and then go home but as you probably can guess that wasn't what happend! The beer was 1.20€ so that might be the reason ;)

We found so funny people there to hang out with (even though almost everyone seemd to be couples and from the same friendgroup?), we played a lot of footballgame and "the circle of fire" and got some free shots (the most discusting thing ever - tasted like toothpaste pepsodent!). Finally we ended up all sleeping in my room!

We have been eating a lot of fantastic food, drinking good wine and the desserts are amazing here! Today we went to the fleemarket and it was really nice but way too cold! So we went to Kim's place and had movie night with a lot of homemade Ben&Jerrys (or Ben&Hans ;)). Hans is Mireia's selfie-stick!

Tomorrow school starts, at 9 a.m. (!!), hope I will wake up in time!

Have a nice week all of you!

Puss&Kram!

Berlin-blogg

Goten tag!

So, I guess I will write mostly in English because otherwise my not-swedish-speaking-friends wont understand a word. Or then I will do some "svengelska" and mix these languages up.

Berlin is a totally amazing city!! I'm already in love! The feeling in the whole city is so great, the coffeehouses, the bars and the shops! The people seems to be nice as well, eaven though it's a bit hard for them to communicate in English.

This far we have mostly been acting like real turists, just walking around the city trying not to be totally lost, and most time of the day we spend on eating I guess. The first day me, Gunnar and Kim went to a really nice neighbourhood called "Eberswalder straSe", where we went to the best coffeehouse ever! It seems to be the more hippie-kind-of-area where everything is eco and vegan and so on. And we found a tree with second-hand books in it!!

In the evening we went to Neukölln to a bar meeting up with some others, drinking beer and had a fun time. The beer and wine is incredible cheap here!!!!

Yesterday me, Kim, Marisa, Carlota and Ana went eating the best icecream and just walked around, but everyone was a bit tierd from the bar-night the day before.

Today in the morning I went to school for the first time to get my registrationpapers, so I could finally get my monthly Ubahn-card! It's quite expensive to go by subway otherwise. Then I met up with the other girls and we went eating to a nice thai restaurant (eaven though my food had the look as dog food - it was fried pig-skin). But as you see - we are mostly spending time on eating! So in the future I wont keep writing about what and where we have been eating because that would take too long time. ;)

My roomie Louisa is really nice and she showed me around today, for instance to the supermarket where I bought wine for 1€! Now we will have pre-party in my apartment and then go to a studentpub nearby.

The wi-fi situation here sucks, but I will try to update sometimes in a while, and I hope Sara will too!

Saknar självklart Stockholm en massa!! Och Åbo lite (fast inte så mycket, mer människorna där ;)). Men till alla er som snart kommer hit - see you soon!!

Puss och kram!

...incredible cake!❤️
I think the bar-toilets are quite amazing too. So trashy but still with a certain style!
And then we found this coffeehouse! Feels a bit familiar ;)
